Latino Heritage Committee
The Napa Valley Latino Heritage Committee came together in 2011 to host annual celebrations of El Día de Los Muertoss. In 2012 we expanded our scope, launching the celebration of Latino Heritage Month for the first time in Napa County. Now in our eigth year, we continue to put together a fall calendar of Latinx-centered events and to host a three day celebration of El Día de Los Muertos annually. Our committee became a program of the Napa County Hispanic Network in 2017. Community members of all backgrounds and ages are invited to join our friendly, bilingual group. Write to or call Debbie at 707-480-7436 to get involved.
The Napa Valley Latino Heritage Committee has also created two photography exhibits, Ellas, Latinas Making A Difference in the Napa Valley (2013) and Hecho Aquí (2015.) Hecho Aquí was also made into a book. The board of the Hispanic Network also underwrites and assists with a variety of cultural events including Bracero Day in 2017 in conjunction with exhibits at Napa Valley Museum and Viva Mariachi festivals at Napa Valley College.
