Latino Heritage Committee
Now in our 10th year, the Napa Valley Latino Heritage Committee is proud to be a program of the Napa County Hispanic Network (since 2017).
We hope to continue our fall traditions in new ways during the pandemic and will meet on Zoom, June 4 @ 5pm to discuss this. Contact or 707-480-7436 to get involved. We work bilingually - all are welcome.
Each fall, our committee:
creates and distributes calendars of Latinx-centric events (sample below)
hosts celebrations of El Día de Los Muertos in Napa
hosts art contests for middle & high school students to design our Latinx Heritage and/or Día de los Muertos posters. The 2020 poster contest has large cash prizes.
hosts special events as we are able to (see below).
Our posters and calendars of events are bilingual and are available in print as well as online. "Celebrate Latinx Heritage, Napa Valley" calendars of events span September through November, which includes the national Latino Heritage Month, and are hosted by a variety of community organizations. We receive funding annually from Napa Valley Vintners and in-kind donations from Napa Valley Unified School District. In 2019 we received a grant for $5,000 from Arts Council Napa Valley, and Napa Valley College printed our calendars and postcards without charge!
